Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters: Property from a Private Collection, which included the work Portrait of a man with a rapier resting on his shoulder, bust-length by Werner van den Valckert. It changed hands for a price of USD 56,250.00 (€ 50,425.82) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Werner van den Valckert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A girl holding pancakes in a feigned stone window, which sold at auction in December 2018 for GBP 175,000.00 (€ 194,965.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters: Property from a Private Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a man with a rapier resting on his shoulder, bust-length von Werner van den Valckert zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 50.425,82) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Werner van den Valckert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A girl holding pancakes in a feigned stone window beobachtet, die im Dezember 2018 für GBP 175.000,00 (€ 194.965,52) versteigert wurde.
