Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Wintjiya Napaltjarri was sold in the Aboriginal Art auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,040.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Wintjiya Napaltjarri have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2009 the work Sandhills was auctioned for AUD 36,000.00 (€ 20,381.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Wintjiya Napaltjarri wurde im Dezember 2019 in der Auktion Aboriginal Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.040,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Wintjiya Napaltjarri konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juli 2009 die Arbeit Sandhills für AUD 36.000,00 (€ 20.381,83) versteigert.
