In December 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Aboriginal Art, which included the work UNTITLED (LANDSCAPE WITH MARSUPIALS, BIRDS, REPTILES AND INSECTS), CIRCA 1965 by Wattie Karruwara. The »bidding war« ended at USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,302.53), 26% above the upper estimate. With this result, UNTITLED (LANDSCAPE WITH MARSUPIALS, BIRDS, REPTILES AND INSECTS), CIRCA 1965 is even the most expensive work of art by Wattie Karruwara that we have observed at auctions so far.
