Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Watanabe Nobukazu was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2006. The price achieved of USD 1,320.00 (€ 1,040.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Other works by Watanabe Nobukazu have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2020 the work Moon-viewing Beauties (Bijin no tsukimi) was auctioned for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,789.66).
