Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
The work Free Taiwan No.1 by Wang Yigang was worth USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,933.92) to a buyer in March 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Asia at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Yigang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Abstract H4, which sold at auction in February 2019 for USD 100,000.00 (€ 87,881.18).

Die Arbeit Free Taiwan No.1 von Wang Yigang war einem Käufer im März 2021 USD 37.500,00 (€ 31.933,92) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia bei Christies in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Yigang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Abstract H4 beobachtet, die im Februar 2019 für USD 100.000,00 (€ 87.881,18) versteigert wurde.
