This artwork by Wang Guangyi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2009. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Great Criticism: Coca-Cola sold for HKD 560,000.00 (€ 48,179.27) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Guangyi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mao AO in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,036,000.00 (€ 2,923,829.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 87 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Guangyi erzielte im November 2009 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Great Criticism: Coca-Cola für HKD 560.000,00 (€ 48.179,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Guangyi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mao AO im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.036.000,00 (€ 2.923.829,97).
