Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Bonhams held the auction British and European Art, which included the work A Longing Gaze by Walter Langley. The price achieved of GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,641.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Langley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Cousin From Town in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 176,000.00 (€ 261,206.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Longing Gaze von Walter Langley zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.080,00 (€ 4.641,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Langley erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Cousin From Town im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 176.000,00 (€ 261.206,03).
