In July 2014 Christies in New York held the auction Interiors, which included the work Untitled (still life) by Walter Biggs. The result of USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,120.24) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Biggs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Mildred Biggs In Window in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 24,000.00 (€ 21,178.96).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (still life) von Walter Biggs zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 1.500,00 (€ 1.120,24) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Biggs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Mildred Biggs In Window im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.000,00 (€ 21.178,96).
