Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Man Walking in the Street, Southside, Pittsburgh by W. Eugene Smith was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in February this year. The price achieved of USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,803.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by W. Eugene Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Walk to Paradise Garden, 1946 in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,892.72).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.803,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden.
