Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Virginia Chihota could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction, the work Raising Your Own (Kurera Wako) changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,455.57) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. Other works by Virginia Chihota have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in March 2018 by the work Zimbabweanraising Your Own (Kurera Wako) at GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,692.78).
