Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Virgilio Costantini could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Belle Époque Splendor: The Discerning Eye of a Collector auction, the work The Model's Repose changed hands for USD 63,000.00 (€ 58,708.41) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Other works by Virgilio Costantini have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2008 by the work Déguisement at EUR 84,750.00.
