Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2001 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Ladies mantle and poppies at Houlet cottage by Victoria Crowe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 663.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victoria Crowe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Snow blown garden' in May 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,287.50 (€ 9,642.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ladies mantle and poppies at Houlet cottage von Victoria Crowe zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 663,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victoria Crowe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Snow blown garden' im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.287,50 (€ 9.642,70).
