Die Arbeit Lapinjärvi von Verner Thomé kam im Oktober 2010 bei Bukowski in Helsinki zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 420,00 und übertraf damit den zuvor vom Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreis um 40%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Verner Thomé erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Playing Children im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 111.249,56).
