Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Utagawa Kuniyasu was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,020.00 (€ 1,042.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Utagawa Kuniyasu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Twelve oban tate-e designs of bijin and two similar triptychs, signed Kuniyasu, various publishers, which sold at auction in December 2013 for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,104.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unknown von Utagawa Kuniyasu kam im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.020,00 (€ 1.042,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Kuniyasu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Twelve oban tate-e designs of bijin and two similar triptychs, signed Kuniyasu, various publishers beobachtet, die im Dezember 2013 für GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.104,98) versteigert wurde.
