Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Komagatado Azumabashi (Komagata Hall and Azuma Bridge) by Utagawa Hiroshige was auctioned at Christies in New York in March this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 2,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,520.00 (€ 2,317.88). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Hiroshige achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tokaido gojusan tsugi no uchi (The fifty-three stations of the Tokaido) in September 2002 with an auction result of USD 207,500.00 (€ 210,041.50).
