Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Edo period (1615-1868), dated 1857 by Utagawa Hiroshige was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November last year. The price achieved of GBP 892.50 (€ 1,034.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Hiroshige achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tokaido gojusan tsugi no uchi (The fifty-three stations of the Tokaido) in September 2002 with an auction result of USD 207,500.00 (€ 210,041.50).
