The work Sailing home by Ugo Flumiani was sold in the 19th Century European Pictures auction at Christies in London in September 2003. The price achieved of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 7,101.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Sailing home is the most expensive artwork by Ugo Flumiani that we have observed at auctions so far.
