Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Festival Day by Trần Văn Thọ was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019. The price achieved of HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,825.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 60,000.00 – 90,000.00. Admittedly, works by Trần Văn Thọ have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Couturière (Lady In Couture) in April 2019 with an auction result of HKD 275,000.00 (€ 31,303.01).

Die Arbeit Festival Day von Trần Văn Thọ wurde im April 2019 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.825,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 60.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Trần Văn Thọ auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Couturière (Lady In Couture) im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 31.303,01).
