Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Tran Luu Hau achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in May this year. In the Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Cat Ba Shore sold for HKD 204,800.00 (€ 24,547.55) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tran Luu Hau - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hanoi Trees, which sold at auction in October this year for HKD 702,500.00 (€ 84,954.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tran Luu Hau erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art and Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Cat Ba Shore für HKD 204.800,00 (€ 24.547,55) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tran Luu Hau mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hanoi Trees beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für HKD 702.500,00 (€ 84.954,11) versteigert wurde.
