In February 2018 Phillips in New York held the auction New Now, which included the work rando and/or andro by Tony Lewis. The auction ended at the price of USD 40,000.00 (€ 32,757.35), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tony Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work no, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 87,500.00 (€ 79,588.87).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Februar 2018 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit rando and/or andro von Tony Lewis zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 32.757,35) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tony Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit no beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 87.500,00 (€ 79.588,87) versteigert wurde.
