Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2024 Bonhams in Paris held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Tower by Tony Cragg. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 10,240.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tony Cragg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Constant Change in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 849,062.00 (€ 984,851.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2024 führte Bonhams in Paris die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tower von Tony Cragg zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 10.240,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tony Cragg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Constant Change im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 849.062,00 (€ 984.851,03).
