The work Flowers and Mandarin Ducks by Tong Kai was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 43,750.00 (€ 4,710.35), 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tong Kai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Birds, Flowers, Insects And Fishes, which sold at auction in April 2002 for HKD 107,550.00 (€ 15,316.50).

Die Arbeit Flowers and Mandarin Ducks von Tong Kai wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 43.750,00 (€ 4.710,35) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tong Kai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Birds, Flowers, Insects And Fishes beobachtet, die im April 2002 für HKD 107.550,00 (€ 15.316,50) versteigert wurde.
