A top price for Tôn Thât Dao
When the work Musicians by Tôn Thât Dao was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 250,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than seven times as high at HKD 1,764,000.00 (€ 188,863.84). This high result makes Musicians the most expensive artwork by Tôn Thât Dao that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit Musicians von Tôn Thât Dao im April 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 250.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 1.764.000,00 (€ 188.863,84) mehr als siebenmal so hoch.
