Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Callow Air's Veil by Tom Thayer was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,031.17). Other works by Tom Thayer have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2018 by the work Stillness at GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,673.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Callow Air's Veil von Tom Thayer im März 2019 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.031,17) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Tom Thayer wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juni 2018 die Arbeit Stillness mit GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.673,05).
