In July 2020 Christies in London held the auction The World Is A Sphere: Art from the Faurschou Foundation, which included the work Kiss My Gilded Mother Fucking Finger by Toland Grinnell. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,230.85), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Toland Grinnell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work TG Portable Card Table & Chairs (Louis Vuitton Monogram), which sold at auction in July 2010 for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,217.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion The World Is A Sphere: Art from the Faurschou Foundation durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kiss My Gilded Mother Fucking Finger von Toland Grinnell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.230,85) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Toland Grinnell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit TG Portable Card Table & Chairs (Louis Vuitton Monogram) beobachtet, die im Juli 2010 für USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.217,00) versteigert wurde.
