Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Kangaroo Dreaming, 1994 by Tjumpo Tjapanangka was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 3,000 - 5,000, the actual price achieved of AUD 3,050 (€ 2,590) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tjumpo Tjapanangka - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work , which sold at auction in November 2007 for AUD 10,320 (€ 6,217).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Kangaroo Dreaming, 1994 von Tjumpo Tjapanangka kam im Juli 2020 bei Bonhams in Sydney zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 3.000 – 5.000 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 3.050 (€ 2.590) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Tjumpo Tjapanangka mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit beobachtet, die im November 2007 für AUD 10.320 (€ 6.217) versteigert wurde.
