Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Old Library (South Pasadena) sight 13 x 15 1/4 in. framed 23 1/2 x 25 1/2 in. by Tim Solliday was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 435.20 (€ 398.97). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tim Solliday achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woodland Song in August 2021 with an auction result of USD 31,562.50 (€ 26,747.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Old Library (South Pasadena) sight 13 x 15 1/4 in. framed 23 1/2 x 25 1/2 in. von Tim Solliday im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 435,20 (€ 398,97) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tim Solliday erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woodland Song im August 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 31.562,50 (€ 26.747,88).
