Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Willis could be acquired at Christies in New York in January 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime Decorative Arts auction, the work The sailing ship of the Natal-Brazil line passing a lighthouse changed hands for USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,147.77) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Willis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The bark Pilgrim in December 2000 with an auction result of USD 17,625.00 (€ 18,773.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
