In January 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Royal & Noble, which included the work A black stallion in a landscape by Thomas Walker Bretland. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,414.56), 60% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Walker Bretland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hare Coursing, which sold at auction in June 2007 for USD 26,400.00 (€ 19,526.63).

Im Januar 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Royal & Noble durch, in der auch die Arbeit A black stallion in a landscape von Thomas Walker Bretland zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.414,56) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Walker Bretland mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hare Coursing beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für USD 26.400,00 (€ 19.526,63) versteigert wurde.
