Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Art Institute of Chicago I by Thomas Struth was auctioned at Christies in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 107,100.00 (€ 100,525.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Struth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pantheon, Rome in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 1,810,000.00 (€ 1,646,352.56).
