In January 2011 Christies in London held the auction The Sunday Sale: The Collection of the Late Mr Peter Michallat, which included the work A river landscape with hills beyond; and Another similar by Thomas Stanley Barber. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,262.56), 41% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Stanley Barber - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mellincourt Falls; River Scene, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,851.26).

Im Januar 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Sunday Sale: The Collection of the Late Mr Peter Michallat durch, in der auch die Arbeit A river landscape with hills beyond; and Another similar von Thomas Stanley Barber zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.262,56) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Stanley Barber mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mellincourt Falls; River Scene beobachtet, die im November 2006 für GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.851,26) versteigert wurde.
