Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2013 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Untitled (Winter) by Thomas Sarrantonio. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 875.00 (€ 664.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Sarrantonio - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Spring), which sold at auction in April 2013 for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,278.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2013 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Winter) von Thomas Sarrantonio zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 875,00 (€ 664,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Sarrantonio mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Spring) beobachtet, die im April 2013 für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.278,25) versteigert wurde.
