Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Thomas Richmond was sold in the Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Silver and Plate and Icons auction at Christies in London in September 2006. The price achieved of GBP 360.00 (€ 531.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Richmond achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Emma Richmond (1797-1880), Daughter Of The Artist, In Lace Trimmed White Dress Tied With Blue Sash, Short Curling Fair Hair, Holding A Kitten On Her Lap; Sky Background in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 7,750.00 (€ 9,326.09).
