Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait of A Gentleman, Half-Length, In A Brown Coat And Yellow Striped Waistcoat by Thomas Peat was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 384.00 (€ 550.20).
