Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Moran could be acquired at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in September last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Works of Art auction, the work Three Mile Harbor changed hands for USD 35,000.00 (€ 35,776.35) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Moran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Green River of Wyoming in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 17,737,000.00 (€ 11,399,100.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Moran konnte im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Works of Art wechselte die Arbeit Three Mile Harbor für USD 35.000,00 (€ 35.776,35) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Moran erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Green River of Wyoming im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.737.000,00 (€ 11.399.100,26).
