Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Castle Rock, Green River, Wyoming (Indian Summer. Green River. Wyoming) by Thomas Moran was auctioned at Christies in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,500,000.00 – 3,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,700,000.00 (€ 2,516,074.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Thomas Moran have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Green River of Wyoming in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 17,737,000.00 (€ 11,399,100.26).

Die Arbeit The Castle Rock, Green River, Wyoming (Indian Summer. Green River. Wyoming) von Thomas Moran kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500.000,00 – 3.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.700.000,00 (€ 2.516.074,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
