Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Passing Shower, Venice 10 5/8 x 17 3/8 in. (27 x 44.1 cm.) by Thomas Moran for USD 54,555.00 (€ 50,838.69). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Moran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Green River of Wyoming in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 17,737,000.00 (€ 11,399,100.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Passing Shower, Venice 10 5/8 x 17 3/8 in. (27 x 44.1 cm.) von Thomas Moran für USD 54.555,00 (€ 50.838,69) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Moran erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Green River of Wyoming im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.737.000,00 (€ 11.399.100,26).
