The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,170.00 (€ 7,222.15), 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Longcroft - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work At Lucknow - six views, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,198.57).
