The work Studies of Emma, Lady Hamilton (1765-1815) in profile at Naples by Thomas Hope was sold in the Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in December 2016. It achieved a price of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,484.47), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Admittedly, works by Thomas Hope have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Femme & enfant turcs. Taonchun [?; Tartare. Kara Koulouktchi sic ou bas-officiers des jainpaires; asiatique du Diarbek / en jutt au corps & flemme / de manufre de de marash / sur le chemin de Diarbek. Bostandgi; Consul Franc.; Illyrioti ?; Egypt|AID531857] in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,172.49).

Die Arbeit Studies of Emma, Lady Hamilton (1765-1815) in profile at Naples von Thomas Hope wurde im Dezember 2016 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings and British Drawings and Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.484,47) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Thomas Hope auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Femme & enfant turcs.
