Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The fountain at Groombridge Place, Kent (illustrated); and The walled garden by Thomas Henry Hunn was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 688.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Henry Hunn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Archusa Italica, Dropmore, Clandon Park, which sold at auction in September 2004 for GBP 1,075.50 (€ 1,566.87).
