Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Fearnley could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work Norwegian rider In A Landscape changed hands for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,844.70) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Fearnley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Arco naturale, Capri., which sold at auction in May 2014 for EUR 81,250.00.
