In the British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings auction, the work Figures in a gondola, Santa Maria della Salute beyond sold for GBP 2,031.50 (€ 3,040.97) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Eyre Macklin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Afternoon Ride, which sold at auction in December 2005 for USD 12,000.00 (€ 10,133.42).
