Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work British The Wise And The Foolish Virgins by Thomas Cooper Gotch for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,505.26). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Pictures at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Cooper Gotch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dawn of Womanhood in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 126,137.24).
