Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Doctor of the Church and the Baptism of Clovis (recto); and An angel supporting a cloud and a group of angels (verso) by Thomas Blanchet was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,880.00 (€ 2,994.82). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Blanchet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Time and Truth overcoming Envy and Discord in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 54,000.00 (€ 78,326.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Doctor of the Church and the Baptism of Clovis (recto); and An angel supporting a cloud and a group of angels (verso) von Thomas Blanchet im Dezember 2000 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
