Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work By The Pond by Tom Garrett. The price achieved of AUD 1,195.00 (€ 698.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tom Garrett - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Bathers, which sold at auction in May 2004 for AUD 3,585.00 (€ 2,094.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit By The Pond von Tom Garrett zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 1.195,00 (€ 698,20) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Tom Garrett mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Bathers beobachtet, die im Mai 2004 für AUD 3.585,00 (€ 2.094,60) versteigert wurde.
