Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The Esopos river by Thomas Bailey Griffin. The price achieved of USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,096.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Bailey Griffin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pastoral landscape, which sold at auction in December 2004 for USD 3,107.00 (€ 2,295.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Esopos river von Thomas Bailey Griffin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.625,00 (€ 1.096,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Bailey Griffin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pastoral landscape beobachtet, die im Dezember 2004 für USD 3.107,00 (€ 2.295,02) versteigert wurde.
