When the work Portrait Of Henry Hoste Henley (1766-1833), Full-Length, With Dogs by Thomas Arrowsmith was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,312.55).
