Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Saint Philip Baptizing the Eunuch of the Queen of Ethiopia by Théodore Chassériau was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in New York in April 2013. Here, the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 62,500.00 (€ 47,463.55). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Théodore Chassériau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diane Surprise Par Actéon in June 2006 with an auction result of EUR 538,400.00.
