Admittedly, works by Theodor Groll have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Visitors by Roman ruins at dusk in March 2004 with an auction result of EUR 31,070.00.

Die Arbeit The Forum before St Giuseppe dei Falegnami, Rome von Theodor Groll kam im Oktober 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.505,26) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 53%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Theodor Groll auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Visitors by Roman ruins at dusk im März 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 31.070,00.
