Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape With Drovers Watering Cattle by Théobald Michau was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,189.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Théobald Michau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Travellers And Their Herds Departing From A Village; Travellers Unpacking Their Carts And Entering A Village in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 158,500.00 (€ 199,918.33).
